Prosecutor Branislav Tomas said Crepuljas health was examined and medical reports on his poor health were credible.
The competent doctor confirmed to the county attorney in Rijeka, who completed the examination since the defendant lives and undergoes medical treatment in Croatia, that Crepulja was incapable of following the trial and that it was unclear when he might be able to, Tomas said.
The indictment charges Crepulja, a former member of the Croatian Defense Council, with killing an underage civilian in the village of Ratanj, without any cause or reason, on October 16, 1993.
Crepuljas trial has been postponed since December of last year, due to his poor health. The trial is expected to continue on September 21.
